Step 1: Wake Up with Natural Light And a Good Alarm Sound
Instead of waking up to a blaring alarm, try a Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock (Amazon link). I really recommend the linked alarm clock from amazon This type of clock mimics a natural sunrise, gently pulling you out of sleep with soft light that increases in intensity. This gradual light stimulates your body’s natural wake-up process, leaving you feeling more refreshed and energized. Because the worst thing in the morning is to wake up to a alarm sound that you hate. I can also recommend choosing your favourite song as your alarm sound whch you can do for free! Let me know if you want me to make a tutorial on that. Either way, choose a alarm sound that makes ou happy in the morning and bonus points if you have an alarm clock that wakes you up with natural light. Trust me and try, you will wake up as a completely different person!
Step 2: Hydrate and Move Your Body
After waking up, the first thing I do is to chug a lot of water. Staying hydrated helps flush toxins, boost energy, and improve mental clarity. I use a huge STANLEY‐waterbottle and try to drink as much as possible before I get out of bed. The linked water bottle from amazon is a bottleI really recommend you trying, you will not regret it. I get so motivated to drink a lot o water when I have a huge bottle to drink from. Then, I take a few minutes to stretch and do some light yoga. Moving your body in the morning helps shake off any lingering sleepiness and prepares you for the day ahead. Getting more flexible is one of my goals this year and stretching in the morning is an actual step towards my goal. Get yourself a high‐ quality yoga mat to stretch on (bonus points I it is pink).
Step 3: Mindfulness and Meditation
Setting aside time for mindfulness or meditation is key for reducing stress and setting a positive mindset for the day. I recommend doing just 5-10 minutes of focused breathing after your stretch, it can work wonders for mental clarity. If you’re new to meditation, I recommend reading The Miracle Of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh. But if you are on a budget or do not have time to read the book, you can always search for a guided meditation on YouTube.
Step 4: Nourish Your Body with a Balanced Breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. My go-to is a quick smoothie packed with fruits, greens, and protein. Starting your day with a high – protein breakfast and your body will thank you. I recommend using some sort of protein powder in your smoothie to get your protein in. I have been using whey 100 protein powder for a while now and it is a game changer! Pick your favourite flavour and put it in your morning smoothie.
Step 5: Plan Your Day
The final step in my morning routine is planning my day. I sit down with my planner and map out my priorities, appointments, and to-dos. This practice helps me stay on track and feel in control of my day. It will also put a deeper meaning to your day and you will become addicted to check off everything on your to do list. I have been using Erin Condrens planners for a long time and the linked one is the one I use right now. You can plan your whole month in it and you also have a lot of left over space for writing down random notes, which is something I really value in a planner. I cannot plan my day without a fresh and clean matcha latte in my hand. And I know, that might be a bit overkill, but don’t knock it until you have tried it. Give t a chance and get you matcha powder and matcha whisk set today.
(Ps. These are just a few of my morning habits to make you inspired to create your own morning routine. I also do my skincare and brush my teeth etc, but I did not want to bore you haha. But if you are interested in y skincare routine, you can check my blog post about The Perfect Skincare Rutine)
