The Ultimate “Everything Shower” Routine for a Total Glow-Up

Have you ever heard of an “everything shower”? It’s exactly what it sounds like—a shower where you take the time to pamper every part of your body, from head to toe. It’s the ultimate self-care routine that leaves you feeling fresh, rejuvenated, and glowing. If you’re looking to elevate your self-care game and treat yourself to the most luxurious shower experience, here’s my guide to the perfect “everything shower.”

Step 1: Set the Mood

Before even stepping into the shower, set the tone. Light a calming, scented candle like the Yankee Candle Autumn Leaves to create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. This scent is a must! It smells exactly like fall, Dim the lights or add some fairy lights to your bathroom to make it feel more like a spa.

Step 2: Hair Oil Pre-Treatment

Start by applying a nourishing hair oil to dry hair for a deep pre-shower treatment. I love using Botanic Hearth 100% Pure Rosemary Oil for this step. Not only does it hydrate and strengthen your hair, but it also promotes growth. Let the oil sit while you continue with your routine. If you haven’t tried hair oiling before should you definitely give it a try! It is a game changer for healthy hair and hair growth.

Step 3: Double Cleanse Your Hair

Now it’s time to hop into the shower. Start with a double cleanse for your hair. First, use a scalp scrub to exfoliate and remove any product build-up. OGX Hydrating + Tea Tree Mint Shampoo is a great option that smells amazing and works wonders for your scalp. Double cleansing ensures your scalp is squeaky clean and ready for conditioner.

Step 4: Deep Condition

Follow up with a deep conditioner to hydrate your hair. The OGX Hydrating conditioner that I linked with the OGX schampoo is very good. But my favourite conditioner is definitely the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask. It is a personal favorite because it nourishes and repairs damaged strands. Leave it on while you move to the next steps of your routine to let it work its magic.

Step 5: Full-Body Exfoliation

While your hair is deep conditioning, exfoliate your skin to slough away dead cells and reveal softer, smoother skin. The Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Moroccan Rose is a cult favorite for a reason—it’s gentle but effective, and the smell is divine.

Step 6: Shaving or Hair Removal

If you shave, this is the perfect time to do it since exfoliating first prevents ingrown hairs and helps you achieve a closer shave. I recommend using Billie Razors for a smooth, gentle experience. They glide effortlessly and leave your skin feeling soft. I used to have a lot of problems with razor bumps, but I can honestly not remember the last time I had that problem.

Step 7: Body Wash

Now, lather up with a hydrating body wash. I love using Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash because it leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soft. Its rich, creamy texture feels luxurious, and the shea butter helps lock in moisture.

Step 8: Skincare Routine

After you’re done with your shower, it’s time to move on to your skincare routine. While I won’t go into details here (you can check out my Skincare Routine for Glowing Skin blog post), this is the perfect time to pamper your face with a hydrating cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer. Remember to be extra gentle with your skin now during these colder months.

Step 9: Body Moisturizing

To keep your skin soft and glowing, follow up your shower with a rich body moisturizer. I highly recommend CeraVe Moisturizing Cream for long-lasting hydration. If you want to add a little glow, mix in a few drops of Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer for a subtle, sun-kissed look.

Step 10: Hair Styling

Now that your hair is clean and conditioned, it’s time to style it. For that perfect blowout look, I recommend using Shark HD440BK FlexStyle Air Drying. It’s an amazing dupe for the Dyson Airwrap at a fraction of the cost, giving you volume and smoothness with minimal effort.

Step 11: Cozy Up with a Hot Tea

As you wrap up your routine, cozy up in your softest robe and enjoy a warm cup of tea. Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea is perfect for a cozy, comforting post-shower treat.

An “everything shower” is not just about getting clean—it’s about taking the time to truly pamper yourself and invest in your glow-up. Whether you do this routine weekly or monthly, it’s the perfect way to relax, reset, and recharge. Let me know if you try any of these steps or have your own self-care rituals to share!
